Review on Monroe SC2928 Magnum Steering Damper by James Hodzic

Perfect fit for 2006 Jeep TJ Rubicon

The good part. Easy installation. If you have a Jeep TJ, this is for you. I've used many of these over the years / 200,000 miles. Works perfectly. I change about every 20,000 km. Tip: Leave the mounting stud (included in this kit) in the tie rod to save yourself from pushing it out. In addition, there is no need to fiddle around with the crown screw and the cotter pin on the underside of the fastening bolt. Simply unscrew the existing damper on the (upper) side of the handlebars facing the engine, push it back, reinstall the new one, done! On the wheel side, if you removed the bolt and existing damper, orient the bolt so the loose nut is on the front bumper side. It also simplifies installation and future replacement. Also buy a rubber case and then reuse it until it falls apart and you need a new one. Be sure to tighten the rubber boot before installing the damper!
