a bit unlucky, but this drive is worth its weight in gold. I first bought a 1TB WD drive (previous model) and the write speed on my 2018 MacBook Pro was so slow I sent it back. I decided to upgrade to this newer 4TB version and the first version I got wasn't reformatted. Swapped it for the same one and it works great. Fast, quiet, and works seamlessly on both my Mac and my wife's PC. Stop wasting time with Seagate (having had 2 crap in the last 10 years I will never use this brand again) and switch to WD already!
