Review on Weller 7135W πŸ”§ Soldering Gun Tip Replacement by Robert Pierce

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent repair for an old tool

Dad bought me a Weller 8200 soldering iron in 1964. In the 1960's (as a teenager) I was everywhere with electronics, experimenting and modifying cars. I've used this gun many times and changed the tip about once a year. It's 2017 and I probably solder wires every five years, but I have a very old tip that doesn't heat up that easily. So I bought a pack of these (yes there are TWO of them in the pack). Installed and it heats up perfectly in about five seconds. (By the way, they used to seem to be pure copper or copper-colored anyway. These new ones are silver instead. The packaging doesn't say any material, but they work. Now let's hope they last a few years.)

Pros
  • Leading maker of quality tools
Cons
  • Slightly torn
