Works with your 8200 gun.

To be used with 8200 Series Wellergun Bend and tighten bracket as usual, attach to gun. Holds bulky solder wire. *Recommended: 4 packs are offered at a reduced price. These and other tips for the same Weller shotguns don't last as long as you might already know.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Useless features

Multiple uses per tip

Each tip only really worked once or twice before I had to start tweaking the contacts to keep them warm. Maybe my soldering iron is somehow to blame. However, the metal tips felt brittle, as if they had been pre-oxidized. For the low price I bought it for it was well worth it to extend the life of the soldering gun. I would pay more for more reliable advice.

No questions. As advertised. Fast delivery.

No problem. As advertised. Fast delivery. For some reason big stores sell soldering gun kits but not replacement soldering tips which are needed after about 10 hours of use. They're inexpensive so just buy 3 or 4 and keep them with your soldering iron so you don't get stranded when you need to replace a broken tip to solder something.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Legacy

Used less than once

After doing all the prep work to get my project's wires ready, I pulled the trigger on my Weller gun and the new tip started to bubble and then failed to melt the solder . It looks like something has been coated on the tip to make it look pretty, but it didn't work. Luckily my Hako tool saved me. I think I'll part with the Weller pistol entirely. I'll buy a Weller tip from Home Depot to see how it goes.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Almost never

Excellent repair for an old tool

Dad bought me a Weller 8200 soldering iron in 1964. In the 1960's (as a teenager) I was everywhere with electronics, experimenting and modifying cars. I've used this gun many times and changed the tip about once a year. It's 2017 and I probably solder wires every five years, but I have a very old tip that doesn't heat up that easily. So I bought a pack of these (yes there are TWO of them in the pack). Installed and it heats up perfectly in about five seconds. (By the way, they used to seem to…

Pros
  • Leading maker of quality tools
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I've run out of Weller tips for about 10 years. Can't believe it didn't break due to all the bends it went through to hold its shape. Finally, I'm reassured that I have 2 of these, one for the gun and a spare. I have used it several times. Heats up quickly and serves its purpose. They appear to be of very good quality. I'm glad I just stumbled across them while browsing. I would recommend it to anyone as it is very good value for money and I would buy it again if the need arose. A good product.

Pros
  • Internationally known for our wide range of products
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Exactly what I needed! So hard to find!

I've recently noticed that nobody carries these tips. After visiting several different hardware stores/warehouses, an electronics store, and Wandwelt, I couldn't find these tips anywhere. There were tips for cheaper soldering irons and there were soldering irons on sale. But nowhere, not even where it is <a href="http://smile.amazon.com/Weller-8200PKS-120-volt-Universal-Soldering/dp/B002YDMZF4/ref=pd_sim_hi_4?ie=UTF8&refRID= 0B0GMRNAVW1BGYV09VKR" > Replacement tips are available for the…
