I needed a drill bit to cut two 5/8" holes in 3/8" farm tool steel and I got it from Revain found a good price. It worked better than I expected. The IRWIN bit is made of M-7 high speed steel for durability. It arrived sharp and in its own storage box. I set the recommended drill speed for a 5/8" drill bit diameter and material (steel) as closely as possible according to the chart on my drill press. You can also download a PDF chart from the IRWIN website that lists the angle of the drill. Bit easily through 3/8" steel with no vibration or sticking with my old belt speed manual drill. For a beginner, it may be helpful to read up on the basic rules of metal drilling by searching the internet for metal drilling etc. Some preliminary reading can be done guard against judgment errors as the rules for drilling metal can be counter-intuitive; for example, don't use coolant on small bits at low speeds, or press harder (instead of lighter) to reduce peak heat, thereby drilling continuous helical cuts, no chips For safety, always wear safety goggles and tighten ovka.
