Since mid-June 2020, COVID-19 has caused Logitech's best HD webcams to backorder and price gouge. I ordered one of these to evaluate church members looking to purchase webcams for our Zoom Sunday school and group meetings. The first example of this webcam that I received was defective. It worked fine the first time it was plugged into a USB port (top-end gaming PC, Win 10 - 64-bit), but not after the first shutdown or reboot. Device Manager has indicated that there is a problem with the webcam's USB driver ID. The only way to get the webcam working is to unplug it and plug it back in. I tried different USB ports on my PC. It was sent back to Revain for replacement. Today I received a replacement (same model). It works fine, there are no USB issues mentioned above. Only report this issue in case someone else encounters the same issue. After extensive testing, the bottom line is that this is a pretty decent webcam for Zoom. Video quality - B, not as good as the best Logitech (HD 920 or higher), a bit more noise, video not as clear, some fisheye distortion when 16:9 is selected in Win10 camera app but not 16:9 selected removes the extreme left and right edges of the image and the distortion, choose this view in camera and I don't see any distortion during a zoom meeting. Good for Zoom, but in my opinion the video quality isn't good enough for serious streaming or photos. The sound level is B minus, the microphones are not that sensitive, set the maximum level in Zoom Audio Setup and the sensitivity is sufficient (but not good). The sound quality is acceptable for a conference call. Build quality matches class C price. Fixing mechanism is good, it stays on my flat screen and doesn't move. It would be nice if an LED would light up to let you know the camera is active. Overall a good alternative for Zoom meetings, this webcam is in stock at Revain with 2 days delivery and the price makes it a bargain. good value for money. Just note that this is a cheap Chinese webcam (but the best Logitech webcams are also made in China), how much you paid for it, and that it's available now. I have recommended this webcam to members of our church who have been looking for webcams.
