Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Capture Crisp Audio with the Olympus VN-702PC Voice Recorder by Jason Rogness

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Lightweight, good recording quality, long battery life!

This is the second mini voice recorder I've bought - the first was Sony. This Olympus recorder is great quality and I would recommend it any day over the previous model I had. The sound quality of the recordings is very good, even from across the room, and the ability to sort recordings and find recordings from a specific date is invaluable. The display is large and easy to read and the functions are easy to use. I was skeptical about the call recording feature, which pauses during silence and only records when there is noise, but I found it to be very accurate. The beginning of the word is not skipped, and the recording seems to start and end immediately. I use it often to save recording space and battery, and finished recordings sound like well-edited cassette tapes. It is equipped with a headphone jack, which is handy for watching recordings in the waiting room, etc. The recorder itself is lightweight and comes with a handy protective case that can be easily slipped into your pocket or purse. The case is open at one end, which I'd rather have with a flap to keep dust out, but it's still protective and can easily be replaced with something more durable if you prefer. The battery life is quite long, and although I carry a spare set I rarely have to change them. I use this device primarily for recording music while composing, but also for casual meetings/voiceover recordings. I found the sound quality to match both. Very happy with this purchase. would recommend.
