I actually only bought this so my spare wouldn't go missing. The dealer I bought my jeep from a few months ago had 4 spare tires stolen off their property from 4 different jeeps one night last week and we live in a fairly upscale area. For some people the temptation is too great as the splint can be removed so quickly. Do yourself a favor and at least lock up your spare.
