I have 4 Ubiquiti UAP-AC-M Access Points interconnected in the 5GHz band (specifically channel 36, 80MHz bandwidth). Standard antennas have a gain of 3 dBi in the 2.4 GHz band and 4 dB in the 5 GHz band. Each access point has (2) dual band antennas. I ordered 2 packs which gave me 6 antennas. I completely disabled one of my access points and noted the connection speed in the Ubiquiti controller. I turned off the other 3 access points, replaced the default antennas with them, and turned them back on. I have taken care to position the antennas as close as possible to the location of the standard antennas. I lost about 8dB of signal strength between each access point, which is significant. Reversing the process and restoring the factory antennas got me back to the original signal strength within 1dBi. I've come to the conclusion that there's no way they can deliver 9dBi of gain in the 5GHz band. I don't know what they're called, but standard 4dBi antennas work much better in the 5GHz band. I haven't run any tests at 2.4GHz, but I suspect I'll find similar results. difficult to attach. I found the threads to be a little more difficult to align than most standard antennas, but all 6 attach relatively easily. Make sure (if you buy them for any reason) that you twist the antenna only on the grooved part. These are long and relatively heavy antennas. I think the build quality would be good if treated with respect. Again, I'm not sure why it matters if they don't work, but I wanted to include this for completeness.
