Fulfills its purpose. Perfect fit for my 8" Goldwood CS-IC83 speakers that I bought from Revain. Some reviews mention that they are thin. They are not intended to provide structural support - they are just there to let the drywaller know where he needs to cut the speaker holes. I ended up accidentally breaking a few pieces off so I just screwed the short end next to a ceiling beam and used the other undamaged end to make up the difference. This worked so well that I purposely cut a side of each mount to provide more stability.
