These are excellent 5 micron filters sold at an attractive price. I've bought several of these filters over the years and swap them out every two months. The filters did an excellent job of trapping the debris and iron sulfide crystals that were present in the home's water well. I tried various pleated filters before using these filters, but they had to be replaced more frequently and the 30 micron rating meant each passed finer debris and sulfide crystals. As with any filter brand, the lifespan of these filters depends on the condition of your water source. max. The manufacturer states a duty cycle of 6 months, but in fact your water source must be particularly pure to expect this result. Specifically, a 5 micron filter will catch more sediment than, say, a 30 micron filter, but the former won't last as long in dirty water as the latter.
