Review on Fallkniven DC4: Ultimate Sharpening and Survival Tool by Daniel Jenkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, LITTLE room for improvement

Excellent quality. There's nothing wrong. My "room for improvement" relates more to the cost and size of the product. I bought a combination diamond/ceramic pocket stone (here on Revain and in the review) that works almost exactly like this Falkniven and is a third of the price. To be fair, the ceramic side of the Falkniven is slightly superior to the budget sharpener I was talking about. But that's not enough to justify such a huge price difference. Yes, I understand that more expensive stones may cost more depending on where they are made and shipping costs will increase due to weight etc. if manufacturers had made a SMALL (literal) change to pocket sharpeners: Increase the length and width, maybe just a quarter of an inch. All pocket sharpeners are about the same size. . Therefore, a small increase in their size shouldn't have a big impact on profits. Production costs are probably low, but a larger stone is much easier to hold, especially if you're using it in the field when it's very cold and your hands are a little numb. In addition, the blade sharpens a little faster, which is also an advantage in every situation. To be clear I have NO complaints, just an observation which, speaking for me only, would convince me to buy premium pocket knife sharpeners like Falkniven rather than sacrificing quality but lesser known pocket knife sharpeners. As I said, I am satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend it.
