This product was easy to assemble but there are nails holding the block up just under the bed. The purpose of this is to make the bed stable so it doesn't sink too far with the cat's weight. Ours was unfastened and there were about 4 or 5 small nails exposed. We couldn't hold the block so we had to remove the nails for the safety of the cats. Our cat doesn't like how the bed sags so he refuses to use it. We tried to lure him away but it was a waste of money for us. I think if the upper was firmer he would like it. We would have sent it back but no box. Maybe he'll use it over time, otherwise we'll give it to someone else and hope he likes it.
