I love these knives. They replaced a set of other TV commercial steak knives I've had for years. I would love these knives but I cut myself twice with them (my fault). Make no mistake, these knives are sharp and you'll be happy with them too. They are dishwasher safe and cut meat without a serrated edge. They're packaged in a nice box so I think they'd make gifts, but the handle is black lightweight composite. The handle has a "cheap" feel, but the blades are a reminder that the handle's material allows for easy cleaning in the dishwasher for everyday use. Since I cut myself with these blades, I don't want to hand wash the metal handles.
