If you have reasonable expectations you will not be disappointed. I got it because I would live in a country without electricity where it is VERY VERY hot. I was literally in the Sahara. Of course I couldn't bring a regular fridge, but I figured it would be better than nothing. Keep in mind I used this in 115+ F weather so it's not exactly an easy task. Verdict? Honestly, it's impressive. I could only use it in Eco mode because I was only running it from USB (performance was significantly better when plugged into a real wall) and it wouldn't cool anything to fridge temperature. But it's gotten significantly colder than my "room temperature," and when it's that hot, every notch colder is a step in the right direction. It was much better to keep the already cold stuff out in the cold. I mean, a cold coke stayed cold 50 times longer than it would have been outside. Fill it with cold stuff and it's even better. Thing is, it's better to keep the temperature cold than lower it, at least in USB-powered Eco mode in very hot desert conditions. Better cool and maintain when plugged into a wall at normal human range temperatures. It's very light and not that bulky (I packed it with travel underwear and socks and it added very little bulk and almost no weight in the context of a large backpacker's pack). He's also very quiet. Like almost silent silence. As if you couldn't hear it alone in the middle of the desert, without sound there is silence all around. My only complaint, which is actually his fault, is his size. If he was 2 inches taller he could hold a bottle of coke, a bottle of gatorade or some water bottles which are a bit big for him but to be honest they ruin his hair. It's perfect? no Is it better than the alternatives I know of? Absolutely.
