Gregory is known for great kits and this one doesn't disappoint in many ways. Pros: This is a great set. The orange corresponds to the image on the website and is a solid color choice. Didn't try it on before receiving it, but I was able to easily find the perfect fit thanks to the multiple adjustment points. During a 7-mile hike in the summer, the pack's weight rested securely and comfortably on my hips, not on my shoulders like many day packs. A bonus, especially in the summer heat, was the ventilated suspension that kept my back dry. The 30L is a great size for longer day hikes or even a simple night hike. Unless you're looking for a ton of storage, I'd downsize. On our day hike we packed it with lunch and some supplies for two and our dog and still had room for more. Different compartments are useful. My iPhone fits easily in my waist pack. The 3 liter tank is easy to fill and secure in the case. Cons: While I love the idea of adding a magnetic flap to my chest strap, I couldn't get mine to stay in place. I had to tuck mine under the straps to use while hiking. My husband and I played with this for about 15 minutes, gave up and just left it alone. I'll keep working with it but I don't see how it will work. It's as if the magnet isn't strong enough to overcome the tension in the hose bend. The reservoir should be fairly easy to clean, but not necessarily the tube. I assume I'll need to buy cleaning supplies and brushes to keep bacteria from building up. The bite valve itself was rigid, requiring a strong bite to draw fluid out. All in all, another solid daypack that I know will come in handy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy if packaging is your main concern. However, if you buy a tank system, you can look at the competition and compare them.
