That does not work. The back door opens dangerously fast.

At first glance, this item looks like a great replacement for the stock shock absorbers on our 2011 Chevy Tahoe. It was easy to install. Unfortunately, that's all I would bet on. First thing I noticed is that the back door opens pretty quickly. I didn't think much about it since we didn't open the back door very often. However, about 4 or 5 months after installation, the tailgate opened very quickly, and every time we opened the tailgate, there was a loud squeaking noise coming from one of the pillars. I contacted the seller and he was quick to reply to my messages and sent me a replacement set which was also shipped quickly (definitely positive for the seller). We installed the replacement kit upon receipt and after about 2 days of opening the tailgate several times, there was no squeaking, but the speed at which the tailgate opened was dangerously high. It opened so quickly that you could injure yourself if you weren't careful. In fact, it opened so quickly that one of the new posts broke. I then contacted the seller to inquire about my options and they said they couldn't refund and contact Revain. other part numbers) compared to $20 for these at Revain. You can see the difference immediately. The weight of the storage racks is much heavier and once installed they have performed well so far. The OEM parts actually have pressurized gas in the pillars to control the opening and keep the tailgate from opening dangerously fast. Unfortunately, I would not recommend wasting your time and money on these tailgate carriers.
