I wanted a headlamp for infrequent use, for example when I have to check something in the basement and there is no flashlight around. For that it works fine. It seems cheap - and I don't care - as long as I have the light. This gives enough light to check the fuse box or look for something outside if I don't have an overhead light. Settings are nice - there are quite a few ranging from high beam to flashing. At $6.52, which is the price at the time of writing this review, I think it's worth the price. Please note that you need 3 AAA batteries. There aren't any guidelines either, so you'll have to use trial and error to figure out how to use the right beam of light for your situation. If you are looking for a basic no frills headlamp I think the price is right and it will work for you.
