It just works well for power strips and surge protectors
It does what it says on the tin. I have my TV plugged into a control outlet and most other devices into switched outlets. When I turn on the TV, everything else gets power. When it turns off, it turns off power to everything else. The always-on sockets work well for my controller chargers. The only downer is the rather audible "click" when switching the switched sockets on and off. Not a deal breaker though.
