Great for powering professional amps with AV receivers

I use this to power my XLS 1502 Crown and Icepower stereo amp when my Marantz receiver is on. I was hesitant due to some other reviews having issues with TVs as the signal plug, but it seems to work fine with my AV receiver as the signal to turn on.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Works better than my previous smartband plus SOCKETS.

The spacing between them is pretty good, the sensitivity switch made it work for my purposes. I turn on my 2012 12-core Mac Pro and all of my external peripherals turn on as expected. When I turn off, everything goes off. I don't put my Mac to sleep, so I don't know if this feature works with the Smart Strip.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Useless features

It just works well for power strips and surge protectors

It does what it says on the tin. I have my TV plugged into a control outlet and most other devices into switched outlets. When I turn on the TV, everything else gets power. When it turns off, it turns off power to everything else. The always-on sockets work well for my controller chargers. The only downer is the rather audible "click" when switching the switched sockets on and off. Not a deal breaker though.

  • Weight

I know people comment on this because of the.

I know people underestimate that because of the master connector. Because they don't understand the technology, they get frustrated when they have to use a three-pin plug. Yes, your main connector must have three pins. But most TVs and stereos, all computers I know of, have grounded plugs, so there's no problem plugging the main unit into the outlet. We use them on all of our computers and on our TV/stereo.

Pros
  • Solid surface

Great energy saver

Works as advertised. I use it to control my home theater system. The selector switch is this guy's secret ingredient. This is a "High/Medium/Low" threshold that tells the device when to turn off power to the switched outlets. Setting it high while my home theater is connected to the control port means my entire setup is cycled on and off, waking and putting my computer to sleep. It's pretty awesome and definitely an energy saver considering I'm using an old amp/receiver that draws 60W all the…

Works great though. for surge protector

I was very satisfied with the device. This is the only home with 12 outlets, three of which are always on. Now for the cons. When using an energy-efficient laptop like a MacBook Pro, there are times when the power draw falls below the device's threshold and it shuts down as if the laptop were off. The workaround is to plug one of the monitors into a control socket, but that's not a very pleasant solution since you're again unplugging multiple devices manually. Thanks to TrickleStar support for…

Works great, saves time and money!

Everyone who owns a computer has various peripheral devices that need to be connected; Monitors, speakers, external hard drives, etc. All of these devices continue to use a small amount of power even when they are turned off. This overvoltage protection allows these outputs to automatically turn off when a device connected to the control output is turned off. This is a great feature. I grabbed my Kill A Watt to make sure none of the green outlets were actually being used after I shut down my…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No performance

It just didn't work for me

I've been using surge protection straps with a shut-off function for about ten years. I didn't know this brand, in the past I mostly used Belkin or Monster protectors. I heard about this brand from my electricity company and Revain had a better price than my electricity supplier so I went with these. I was interested in this article because of the location of the plugs. The balance of well placed forks around the outer perimeter for large load packs and the inner row for regular sized forks was
