Review on πŸ”Œ Efficient 846639 Fuel Shut-Off Solenoid for Briggs and Stratton Lawn Garden Equipment Engine by Ryan Yap

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit for John Deere E100 mower - direct magnet exchange - cheaper than at the dealer!

The product arrived a few days earlier than expected, which was a pleasant surprise! My JD E100 mower suddenly shut down the other day and it just went round and round and round without starting. I checked spark plugs, fuel etc. Nothing. I finally settled on a "Fuel Cut Off Solenoid" and called the local dealer: They didn't stock the part and it was about $70. This mower is still under warranty, but JD will not honor it unless an authorized dealer installs the part. Yes, without paying for the delivery of this mower to a dealership. To be honest, John Deere wasn't impressed. This part was very easy to install; This is the only plug you disconnect from the bottom of the carb then unscrew it with a half inch open end wrench (I used a 12mm wrench - close enough right? IT. Anyway it was perfect and cost a little. I hope this part will last for years to come, time will tell but wanted to post this here in case anyone else stumbles upon my issue. Thanks to the seller for the quick delivery and good price. (PS: The E100 mower is very similar to the E110 etc - it should fit most NEW single cylinder Briggs and Stratton mowers but do some homework to confirm this! Not sure what the V- Twin mower is concerned, but look at the part and compare.) (PSS: You can test the old solenoid to make sure it's dead. First make sure it's dry and has no gas on it, let it dry for at least 24 hours then no take a 9 volt battery and spare wire, connect to two terminals on the solenoid (official test procedure in the JD Service Manual)
