On my last trip the luggage belt seized one of the wheels on my suitcase. If you look at luggage wheels, most look the same until you find a spare wheel, and then none of them look exactly the same. The spare tire I finally ordered was the same diameter but slightly wider. The shaft holding the original wheel was stamped or pressed. You must either drill out the upset end or cut the shaft. I thought I would use a hacksaw to cut the shaft in half but didn't have a good way of holding the wheel in place. A side grinder was used. It's quick, but you have to be careful not to cut the wheel support. It is also possible to overheat the shaft and melt the plastic shaft holder for the wheel. The impeller replacement kit came with two different length shafts. The shorter one is suitable for this application. The hole for the shaft had a recess for the head. The shank head (screw head) had to be ground to match the Phillips hole. The shank was placed in a drill so it could be rotated while the head was ground on a belt sander. There was no space for washing machines so they were not used. The supplied screws for fixing the shaft are pre-coated with screw lock. Replacement parts were better than the parts that originally came with the case. I was impressed that the bolts that attach the wheel axles were pre-coated with Loctite. The kit also included two hex keys to tighten the bolt on the shaft.
