Strong adhesive, the elastic will not stretch and will hold on the kids iPad.

The adhesive works well and stays in place. I decided to move it to another location after first use and it wasn't that heavy and it stays in place just as well as it did the first time. The rubber band didn't stretch or snap on a kid's iPad.
