Review on 📦 Synology RS1619xs+ Rackstation Diskless NAS, 4-bay with 8GB DDR4 by Will Porter

This thing has everything you need for storage. I tried contacting Synology Technical Support about adding more drives. That was a few weeks ago and I still haven't received an answer that I can find. This was done through their online support. Luckily this turned out to be an issue with the disk size I was adding. You cannot do less than what is already there. The only real problem I have at the moment is that the unit is too long for my rack. Looks like I might end up making a mount for it. As a shelf, it will appear both large and somewhat expensive. It can sit on my shelf until I've collected enough to change the current rack setup. The best thing about this unit was the upgrade from a small desktop Synology NAS, which was a breeze. Synology has great online articles for you to follow. I am grateful for the resources they provide to follow. They did a great job replacing my old unit under warranty. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. This reassures me that my data will not disappear without a trace if a hard drive fails. I have lost years of photos due to my past carelessness.
