Review on πŸ”Š Orion Cobalt Monoblock Amplifier: 1500W RMS Class D Car Audio Subwoofer Amp by Sean Maile

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Maximum wire size is 4 gauge.

This small and powerful amplifier is suitable for a single subwoofer configuration. I have a 12" Sundown Audio 750W RMS dual voice coil voice coil running at 2 ohms in a pinned box and this amp is exactly what I was looking for to power it. I've set the gain on the amp to maximum and check the bass level. via the included bass controller. The minimum volume on the knob means there's no bass and you can just enjoy the music without the occasional roaring bass, while the maximum volume shakes things up the way we all want it to. The maximum wire gauge for the power and ground connections is 4 gauge wire and no larger. The maximum thickness of speaker wire it will accept is 8 gauge and I use the maximum for both. I installed an amplifier under the passenger seat of my PT Cruiser and a 3.5 Farad capacitor under the driver's seat to quickly reduce headlight dimming at night. It still happens from time to time, but it's not that noticeable, to be honest. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
