We bought two GPS speedometers from different dealers, neither worked. Went like clockwork. Why they don't publish new connection methods I don't know. The final working connection included a wire (Yamaha's yellow for us) from the ignition to the signal post AND a jumper wire from the signal post to the battery post. Contrary to the signs, the direct current line (red in our case) was completely unused. So simple, hope this helps someone else.
