Worked great in light conditions for a few months and then stopped working. My husband is an electronics engineer and the problem arose because of him. The switch was fine. The problem is that the stator is aluminum wire and the connection from it to the terminal board has failed, resulting in burn marks and an "unconnected" stator wire. His best guess is that over time this connection weakens due to vibration, causing high enough resistance to blow without blowing the fuse. In any case, I felt sorry for paying so much money for something that broke so easily and made him uncomfortable because you can't solder a stator to the aluminum wire to fix it. Now our beautiful and powerful Dewalt vacuum lives in a landfill. What a waste!
