No aluminum inside
I currently have aluminum core reels. The inside of these reels is plastic, not aluminum. Update: I took a closer look at the reel and it may have a very thin layer of aluminum but it has plastic and I can easily squeeze the reel. Another brand I have from another site is heavier and I can't compress the video. So thin aluminum (if it's aluminum) doesn't retain heat like other rollers I have. This is no different than using regular plastic rollers with Velcro.
