Review on Mandolin Slicer Safety Cutting Blades by Brandi Mclaurin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not quite the same in kitchen and dining room

I was hoping this would be the only mandolin I would keep. However, it comes back because the permanent blades responsible for the success of the cutting process are not sharp enough to cut consistently. Super-sharp interchangeable blades of various sizes are great, but half the equation are permanent blades. They are too blunt to make a good cut. So blunt that operating it even with the supplied pusher becomes quite dangerous. In general, the device is high quality and robust. If a little more attention had been paid to the blades the high price would have been acceptable, but due to the dullness of the important blades, this mandolin does not fare any better than the $35 plastic version. What a pity!

Pros
  • Mandolins and slicers
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
