I've been using suction cups for many years. And well, they always fail. Some last longer than others. But even the sticky ones don't work in the summer months. So I needed something new. I decided to try the vent collar. And while I love it, it was pretty easy to install. A little tip: Lower the fan completely, then set the installation position. The weight of the phone pulls the ventilation down, so save yourself the hassle and get it right the first time. Once installed, you'll likely need to make a small adjustment, ie here and there (but that's with every mobile mount you'll find). I live in Pennsylvania. and if you have ever been in a car. in the PA. You know what that means. Unless. We have potholes. LOTS of potholes. So driving any road is like driving a quad track. So many jump. and my phone or mount has never been dropped. One thing I would change is the side arms. I would make them more centered. I like having my phone horizontal, I feel like it's easier to see the GPS maps. The mount is configured for a more vertical installation. But it still works great in a horizontal position, although I feel like my phone would be a little more secure if my hands were centered. But all in all worth my money.
