so early, too - very early, especially for a review, but after reading 100 reviews I thought it would be nice to share my experience. So the main issue is the installation. The light works well and looks great. So let's remember this is a flush mount bracket, and I mean flush! Forget all the installation nonsense. I built a house in 86 and the mount worked fine. and yes you can trim another 0.5 inch of insulation from the wires on the bracket but i only made one this way. Why? great question. This lamp consumes only 24 watts. We have incandescent bulbs (25 watts) that use more, and those incandescent bulbs don't let you see much. The bottom line is that while it's fine to shave more insulation, it's not really necessary with a load this small if you're making a good connection. The mount comes with a 6-8 inch chain to allow it to hang from the mounting plate while the wires are connected. nice touch and very useful. After you connect the wires you MUST slide these puppies back through the very narrow hole in the center of the mounting plate and back into the switch box. yes, it is a MUST! Why because the wire nuts were too thick to leave outside the box and attach the bracket so the nuts are (as always) a problem. Be patient and work because the ground wire (green) is pretty much useless in this situation, I used a very small wire nut and left it outside the electrical box between the mounting plate and the bracket. You should have enough space depending on the size of the nut. once you've done that, the rest is less than tr if oh, it's little things, but not that much, and the finished product is a dream! Now that the load (black) and neutral (white) wires are back in the box, they don't interfere with the fixture's tight fit to the mounting plate. u Simply push the bracket against the mounting plate and turn counterclockwise. now I plan several attempts, k. The main thing here is to make sure all the wires are inside the protrusion of the bracket. this is of paramount importance, k. the second one was much easier than the first one and i had to do the first one twice because i forgot to pick a color for the main light. Well, from an aesthetic point of view, that's bad light. The amber color pops when you first spin it, and while it's brighter than I thought looking at the photos, it's not overpowering if you decide to leave it on as a night light. Press the switch again and the main light will turn on and the yellow will go out. Do it a third time and you'll be fine. Guys, it's a very bright 12-inch light, but not too bright. The lens does moderate the brightness, so it's not a problem. In short, I really like this light. I hope it stands the test of time but it's gorgeous and the white trim matches the 8 inch ceiling and it's almost damn invisible when it's off but tasteful. We use them in the kitchen and in the hallway.
