Pays for itself in one go. I struggled with an intermittent cable issue where the external camera would drop out of connection from time to time. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. Runs from the server to a wall outlet, to a straight underground wire about 300 feet long, to a connector at a remote site, to a POE power supply, to another wire, and then to a camera in the well. The problem has existed for several weeks now. I swapped parts, reworked the wire ends, but never got it right. I tested several notoriously good and notoriously bad cables to get an idea of how they work, and then set about solving the problem. It took me about 15 minutes to identify the cable with the intermittent fault. (It was a cable in a "well" that I didn't know about.) I used expensive tools ($1000) and it wasn't as accurate with the length as they were, but then I didn't bother either to calibrate it . But it was found sporadically, and when I actually had a bad cable and identified a specific cable, it was obvious that the very first test showed that the cable with the defect was "shorter" by about 10%. All in all I'm impressed.
