I use this all the time. I have some "bare" hard drives and this works great to mount them. I had a drive that just stopped working. Completely dead. I took it apart, unscrewed the data interface and power connector, plugged it into this little device, and everything was fine with the disk. Yes I could buy a new case but it has two slots and I can use it on a number of drives that don't have cases. I had no problems with that at all. I run other tests on it, but it seems to run fast enough. I would buy again.
