3XL has been washed several times and is no longer 3XL

I bought a second one and returned it because the first one actually failed. I have a chest height of 50 inches and the midpoint of the waist is the same. When I first washed my clothes, I was amazed to find that the lint filter in the dryer was full of red turtleneck lint. We wash most of our clothes in cold water, and so does this one. The second and third washes cover the pile fabric again, it's warm, and the stretch on the turtle's neck seems to be the same.
