I bought it as a fast lens for night shooting and shooting with a lack of light in the city. For me, a great addition came out to the AF-S DX 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II. However, it is worth taking a drive before buying it for rent or from friends in order to draw a conclusion for yourself whether to take one or not. Its pros: For a photo amateur like me, a great fast lens for little money. Cons: Autofocus somehow doesn't work very well, or my hands are crooked.
