Review on Injen SP7027P MegaRam Polished Intake by Dee Rawls

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ZERO issues, noticeable performance gain with GMS1

A bunch of people warned me about Injen air intakes being distorted due to MAF skew, but I think they were talking about earlier generations. Yingen seems to have learned a new way to measure airflow past the MAF, and also invented a way to make it read like a stock. Anyway, now they have patents on these things. So I decided to take a chance. Installation was easy. I even forgot to disconnect the battery and it didn't matter. At the same time I installed Injen hotpipes and got a dramatic increase in performance. Butt Dynomer says it's about the same increase I felt when I got the GMS1 kit. The filter element hangs under the headlight tray and is quite susceptible to getting wet. So I also bought a Hydro-Shield, which is a treated nylon "sock" that fits over the AEM filter to prevent hydro-blocking from saturating the filter element while spraying. pour it through a huge puddle or otherwise over the filter. The hydraulic lock can break the stem (read 2 stories about it).

Cons
  • High price
