I had one of these on a much older Mac and loved it until it broke 10 years later. I am now buying another one for a 2017 Macbook Pro (running 10.13) to use with Adobe Premiere. Almost 15 years later, this shuttle looks and feels the same, but there's no point in fixing something that ain't broke. The button layout is ideal for one-handed use, making it easy to remember button layouts and speed up editing without having to look at the device. The top 3 buttons actually have fingertip grooves so you can always feel where your hand is in relation to the device. The center dial is rubber coated for better grip and is very sensitive to gradual forward and reverse acceleration, as well as returning to the center position each time. The internal rotary switch helps me find the perfect frame to cut out, which is one of the most annoying things for me when I'm just using the mouse. and/or applications may require additional configuration since the Shuttle driver does not always update as quickly as the applications it uses and do not "talk" to each other. You'll see on the company's tech support forums that new Mac users (2017-) may need to adjust some Shuttle settings to teach your Mac how to "see" the device and read the apps you're using want . with this. None of this is very difficult for the average computer user once you know the steps. A common issue on the forum for Mac users is a recent security protocol where Apple tries to block an app during installation as a precaution, but it's an easy fix with a few clicks of the button. My biggest problem was that the Shuttle driver would not connect to Adobe Premiere, in fact the Shuttle driver didn't even recognize that it was installed on my computer even though it could "see" all other Adobe applications. With the kind help of their tech support (less than 24 hours response) they got me through the rest of the trip. If you find that a specific Adobe application is not working, you can select the closest application name from the list in the driver and then click the Settings (gear) button at the bottom. Select "Copy to new settings" and then find and select the app in your folders. Restart your computer and you should be done! I'm giving 4 stars simply because of the extra steps required to get the shuttle working with some settings.
