Review on ๐Ÿš— Enhance Ride Comfort with Monroe 40034 Specialty/Electronic Shock Absorber by Andrew Amzallag

Revainrating 4 out of 5

OE parts provide amazing driveability and comfort

This is an original rear shock absorber to replace the original equipment on trucks equipped with an automatic driving system. I installed them on my 2002 Tahoe LT (183,000 miles) with no problems. The hardest part of the job was replacing the compressor, which usually needs to be done as it has been known to burn out when old shock absorbers fail. In this case you need Dorman model 949-000. The store charged $2,500 for the entire order; front and rear shock absorbers, supercharger and work. This is madness. I spent less than $1000 to make it myself in less than 3 hours. In the end, my driving is struck by how responsive and smooth it is now. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that they're still too expensive for what you get (starting at $200 each) and the picture is misleading - you don't get the standard orange shocks; you turn black

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
