Very happy with the results!

I bought these to replace shock absorbers on my 2003 GMC Yukon Denali. I chose these because of their price. Other brands, including OEM, are slightly more expensive. They fit just like the ones I had and with the new compressor I bought my setup is working great. I saved hundreds of dollars by buying and installing them myself instead of taking stock shocks to a shop.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

NO manufacturer warranty on this shock absorber!

I bought two 40034 shock absorbers in 2013. In 2016, one of them failed with error code C0585. I contacted Revain about the warranty and was told to contact Tenneco. Tenneco has informed me that this damper is not covered by their warranty, although their own e-catalog lists the damper as an OESpectrum model which is guaranteed for life. Very deceptive on Monroe's part, and Revane continues the deception.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • There is nothing here

not orange like OEM but functionality doesn't appear to be broken

Direct bolt replacement for a 2005 Escalade with electronic and air suspension. The part is black instead of orange like the OEM, but the functionality doesn't appear to be broken. Driveability is significantly improved after 120,000 of the life of the OEM shock absorbers. Installation is easy, literally 2 screws top and bottom on each side and 2 push/clip connectors for Electrorinc/Air Ride connections. Be sure to use a separate jack under the shock mount to relieve pressure so the bolts can…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Damaged

Looks expensive until you call the dealer.

After 193,000 miles my stock shocks failed as expected and I was tired of hearing the air compressor run non-stop. These dampers were easy to swap out and I immediately felt the difference as I backed out of the driveway. $200 is a lot for a shock (albeit a lot less than a dealer!), but if you're in the towing business, it's good to have an autoride system to level the rear of the car. As you can see from my photo they don't look exactly the same but I am rating them on their value for money. I

OE parts provide amazing driveability and comfort

This is an original rear shock absorber to replace the original equipment on trucks equipped with an automatic driving system. I installed them on my 2002 Tahoe LT (183,000 miles) with no problems. The hardest part of the job was replacing the compressor, which usually needs to be done as it has been known to burn out when old shock absorbers fail. In this case you need Dorman model 949-000. The store charged $2,500 for the entire order; front and rear shock absorbers, supercharger and work…

Pros
  • Nice thing

  • I vaguely remember

In August I noticed I had an air spring compressor.

In August I noticed that my air spring compressor on my 2003 GMC Yukon Denali (72,000 miles) was running much longer than usual. I also noticed that with the supercharger running, the rear (stock) shock absorbers didn't raise the rear of the truck, but the supercharger bled air. After checking prices for this particular shock at auto supply stores and at a GMC dealer ($375-$550 each), I couldn't believe the price in Revain ($196) for the Monroe. I ordered shocks from Revain and when they…
