Review on 🚲 SUNLITE Cruiser Pedals with Enhanced Rubber Surface for Superior Performance by Steve Campbell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything you could want in a $20 pedal set!

As a daily active urban Pacific Northwest cyclist (who loves to pound the gentle gravel/off-road mountain trails on weekends), I'm probably not your typical target buyer for these cruising pedals. They were originally designed as a budget placeholder until I could get my hands on more "proper" performance pedals, but (even when I upgraded the fork, wheels, and other components on my custom titanium hybrid) I found these simple flat platform pedals indispensable part of my idyllic ride! While the extra 150 grams (about 1/3lb) is undeniably heavier than most time trialists' choice, for my purposes it's worth the constant comfort of the sturdy wide platforms, allowing me to really enjoy those multi-day rides! I find that the rubber outsole also offers pretty good traction, even when pedaling uphill in cold rain (quite rare with shoe slipping) without banging against my shins (or my good shoes) like with the basic spikes. the pedals strive. After two and a half years of hard riding, they still feel brand new (just a few scratches here and there from accidentally tipping the bike onto the concrete). Their overall durability, comfort, and value for great utility convinced me to invest in another pair or two (to build a friend's bike and/or future insurance). All in all I think they're great for a variety of casual riders, not just your barefoot beach cruisers :-)
