Review on ๐Ÿ’พ Seagate 2TB BarraCuda SATA 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 2.5-Inch 7mm Internal Hard Drive by Mateusz Mazurkiewicz แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am not disappointed, the quality is satisfying.

This HDD is designed to be used as a storage of information, and not to install a system on it, as many do for some reason. The main advantage of this HDD is high cache hit and high recording density, I use 4 of these in my home NAS in the Thermaltake Max 2504 case. Hard drives perform well both individually (NTFS file system) and together (if everything is placed in ZFS). By the way, I did not observe any problems with overheating, although one such HDD was used for 2 months as a second laptop disk for file dumps and installing games. In the same line there is a 1 TB HDD that performs well with a Linux system, I didnโ€™t try to put it on it in Windows, but I think for Windows you will need a model with a rotation speed of 7400 and not 5400.

Pros
  • Large volume, generally adequate price, corresponds to its parameters.
Cons
  • Record drops slightly on far sectors due to SMA "tiling"
