Power button didn't work

I'm not sure if the product is defective or not but I have to keep pressing the power button to use the brush which makes it very awkward to use. It has two buttons and I assumed they turn on and off, but as soon as I press and then release the big top button it turns on for a second and then off. I've tried hard pressing and just tapping it, but it just doesn't work. It's just not a pleasant product and I don't recommend it.
