Review on John Boos Chop N Slice Maple Cutting Kitchen & Dining by Saul Franco

So chopping boards disappointment

I received this chopping board as a gift last Christmas and have been wanting to write this review for a while. Simply put, the joints of the wood break at the edges of the board. See photo. The darker board on the left has been mine for almost 30 years and the wood is in perfect condition - no chips, cracks or other signs of deterioration. I have never smeared it with oil or wax. The one on the right is the Boos brand which I have owned for less than 10 months. Despite oils and waxes, almost all joints crack at the edges. Never buy one of these Boos branded boards ever again. TV cooking shows like to use them because they're donated by boos. I'm guessing two stars instead of 1 because I like the size and the heavy weight of the board keeps it in place during the hard work of cutting and slicing. It seems to me that there is probably another brand that is the same size and weight and is better made than Boos. Very disappointing.
