I received two watches with the same problem, so I've concluded that the problem is with the software and not the physical limitation of the watch. Basically, if you download music to this watch using a Mac computer and Garmin Express software, you should be happy with those playlists forever, because if you try to delete them, you'll never be able to recover the space needed to replace them , another playlist. The only way to regain that space is to perform a hard reset, which will erase all your data, including music, and free up disk space, but who wants to do that every time you want to change your playlists? I spent over 45 minutes. I phoned Garmin and couldn't figure out the problem so I asked for a replacement which I received. When I had the exact same issue with my second watch, I called Garmin again and told them there was something wrong with either the Garmin Express for Mac software or the firmware on their watch. They had never heard of this problem before and asked for screenshots of the process which I sent them. They're investigating the issue now, but for now I've decided to make my life easier and give Garmin back in favor of the Apple Watch, which I know won't give me any compatibility issues.
