Duvet is exact in color and thickness the figure. It's thin enough for summer and I think it will be good for winter. I like quilts as their weight adds warmth without adding bulk. It's definitely the "rustic look" I wanted, but I can spice it up however I want. I just wish I could measure better. We have a standard queen and this ONLY hangs on the edge of the mattress on all sides. I wanted something bigger and cover more of the dusty waves. . Should have gone with the king so I had a head start on the sides. (There is an ottoman at the foot of the bed to hide the size variation). All in all, this is a good duvet at a good price.
