Review on Steam Power Steamer Scrubby Messes by Devin Jirsa

Not impressed - will likely be sent back

We had an old Bissell vacuum and steam mop combo and it was quite good as it vacuumed the area before the mop came - saving time not having to clean the floor firstly, it saved a lot of time. Anyway, after 2 years our old unit started leaking (probably because we were using tap water and not distilled water, which was causing calcium to build up, clogging and causing a leak). After extensive research we chose this product based on the positive reviews, long cord and the word commercial (commercial has to mean it's better quality, more durable and performs better than residential, right? - WRONG) . It felt like cheap plastic and not as strong as our previous device - and of course it could be because the old device had a built in vacuum which made it heavier and stronger - I don't know. In any case. , it's pretty similar to our device but probably doesn't get as hot because floors stay wet - and wet for longer. A good steam mop should only leave the floor warm to the touch and the moisture should evaporate within a few seconds of steaming. We have tried this on both laminate and tile. We used it twice and both results were unsatisfactory. We'll try again before sending it back to make sure it didn't have to be "hacked" or anything like that. To top it off - I'm not sure if the device was used or just opened. the box, because when we opened the box to assemble, some items were not in the plastic bags, there was a small scratch on the front of the machine - who knows; everything could bounce off the delivery, but probably not. FYI, our previous unit was the Bissell Symphony and if it's in your budget I would definitely recommend it.
