Review on NVX Copper Single Speaker XAPK8 by Zack Frazier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality kit

This is an OFC cable. Don't be fooled by the silver plating on the copper. I tried tinning the wires for installation as I didn't have tips and the wire didn't heat up with a soldering iron. I figured it wasn't strong enough for 8 gauge wire. So I pulled out my flashlight, which worked, but it actually melted some of the tin and you can see the bare copper strands underneath. The fuse box is high quality and well made. The cables were long enough to connect an amp behind the back seat of an F150 supercrew. It's quite a long run. The speaker cable was also of good quality. They offer you all the connections you need to connect a single amplifier. One weird issue I ran into is that the nice braided end of the cord had a ring connector which was nice but you can't use it on a fuse box. I had to cut it about a foot off the end, strip both ends of the wire to fit the fuse box, and then connect the ring terminal to the battery. I think it would be much better if they included a short braid with a ring connector and a long braided cable with a straight end with a ferrule. The braided section was long enough to go through the bulkhead and into the cockpit. Very pretty. I would buy this set again if needed. I don't think you will find a better quality set for the price. If you do this often and buy cords and plugs in bulk then obviously you don't need it, but for a one off do-it-yourself installation that the nice braided end of the cord had a ring connector which was nice but you can't do it on one Use fuse box. Of course, if you do this often and buy cables and plugs in bulk, you don't need it, but for a one-off installation for the do-it-yourselfer,

Pros
  • Amplifier installation
Cons
