To update. These people are doing the right thing and have created a product that works.

update 5-14-19. Some time ago HP updated the firmware so I couldn't use this company's product as shown in the review below. The company did me right. They have upgraded their cartridges and my printer no longer complains about non-genuine ink. If Smart Ink continues this trend I will continue to use it until I run out of a printer. HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 I have allowed the printer to be updated having used this product for the last 2 refill purchases. The update ended the ability to use this product. It's either that or the last batch of cartridges isn't good for HP at all. I can no longer buy them. I have almost a whole set that no longer works. Good luck with any other model or don't update.
