Review on Rocaris Abrasive Buffing Polishing Dremel Power & Hand Tools by Lamar Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good price good for power tool parts and accessories

I use these wheels to clean aluminum surfaces. Personally I only use two medium grits (I don't really need the coarsest or finest grits) but the cost of the kit is high so I have no complaints and I have plenty of spares for a future part. For safety reasons, a mask must be worn when using it. A cheap HEPA mask is better than nothing, but you'll need something less restrictive if you're going to be buffing/sanding for an extended period of time. Please note that these buffs are EXPANDABLE. Too many people complain about wheel wear. That's why you buy a 4x10 pack! All abrasives are consumables and they are no exception as they are similar to abrasive sheets except now you spin them at 10,000rpm. yes they wear out. Wheels can only last a few minutes depending on your technique and the type of hand drive you use. I found that the approach angle at the edges would tear them to pieces first. Observe the direction of the wheel as it attempts to "climb" the surface (depending on which direction the wheel is turning). If you try to climb around a corner or ledge, the wheel will collapse. So rotate the part or hand tool the other way, which will push the wheel off the edge instead of riding it up. Wheel life is greatly improved - the components I make are extremely sharp, but if I'm careful I can consistently polish on a single wheel for over 10 minutes. This makes them a great deal considering you have 9 more of the same grits and 30 more other grits. Use them right and life is good. Due to some confusion, here are the standard grains for Scotchbright colors: Brown - 120 Green - 180 Red - 320 Black - 400 (Edited - corrected for clarity)

Pros
  • great for a small home
