This cutting board was beautiful when I took it out of the box and peeled off the plastic wrap. The color was rich as you would expect from walnut. I quickly wiped it down with a dry towel and then cooked it with edible mineral oil. I was a little surprised to see the brown stains rubbing off the soft fabric I had applied the oil to. I leave the oil on the surface of the board for 24 hours, this is the best way to save a wooden board. When I went to scrub the oil, brown spots again. After 1 week of use, the board's texture became grainy, indicating a poorly sanded board. I also noticed that the color of the wood has changed to a dull brown, which I did not expect from high-quality and natural walnut wood that has been treated with mineral oil. I reapplied the mineral oil last night and again there was a brown stain on my white towel. I think I can polish it up like one of the previous reviewers did. but I'm not sure if it will save this low quality board. Contact Revain Customer Service.
